About book White: The Great Pursuit (2005)

Me gustó e impactó demasiado.

First of all...Wow! I would not have thought it possible, but Ted Dekker has managed to make, White, even more amazing than Black or Red. What an amazing journey. What an amazing story. I am always in awe of an author that can create a story, a world of such magnitude as this. But to create two!? This third installment was everything that the first two were...and more. The action, the adventure, love story enveloping these two worlds? I am truly left speechless.Ted Dekker is a master at creating a world of true good vs. evil. As a reader you are drawn into these two worlds and totally enveloped by the light and the dark. Many times after closing the cover, I found myself unsure if I was still within the story myself. Truly intoxicating!Yes. This is an action packed thrill ride. Yes. This is a story for those who truly believe in God and his everlasting love. No. I am not a religious person...never have been. Yes. I believe that there is something in this book/series for everyone, whether you believe or not. One thing is for certain. I will look at my dreams in a whole new light!

Do You like book White: The Great Pursuit (2005)?

The White Book, the Blank Book, is one that does not work in the dreams (the world of Elyon) though it can be written from them. And what is written in the future affects the Histories.Thomas and Monique live through the Book as Teelah does his best to destroy it all. At the end of chapter 8, he tells Woref that even if Woref thinks Cherise will be his wife, Teelah will have her heart. That is a true incarnation of evil and it's chilling. In the Histories, Thomas, Kara & Monique continue to work with the U.S. government to prevent the destruction of the world and to develop the disease's antivirus. Thomas discovers that he can bring a few people to the dreams (as either world) with his blood. The question is if his actions will prevent the Raison strain from its projected death toll in time. And in the other world, how he can allow for Justin/Elyon/God's Bride to live. Some great things to take from this novel:- The real disease is evil. It's not the Raison Strain or evil or Scabs, it's evil in its true form.- "Without belief, you don't dream." - Monique at the end of chapter 44Without belief, there is little to strive for.

So I loved the first two but this last one was way too over the top with the Christian metaphors that weren't so metaphorical. My fault...I should have read some reviews before committing to the trilogy. Just unprepared. All in all, entertaining with good character development. Like his writing style, but I do dislike someone who makes the assumption that I haven't read the previous books and need to be "reminded" of the plot line. Not as bad as Goodkind or anything. But these books were all released in the same YEAR for goodness sake.

RATING: 5.0 out of 5.0SUMMARY: Thomas Hunter is living in two realities. One is present day Earth. The other is a distant future after most of the worlds population has been killed by a virus released by terrorists. When he goes to sleep in one reality, he wakes in the other. This is the second book in the series.COMMENT: There are three books in the series, but in reality it is one big book released in three parts. You really should read the three books in order to have the best experience.I'm basically going to refer you to the comments I left for Red, the second book in the series. I don't really have anything more to add.The first book in the series was slightly weaker than the last two. But I consider it an excellent series and I've very glad I found it.
