I love a good mystery, and Within Temptation by Tanya Holmes is chuck full of secrets, deception, and cover-ups. This book is romantic suspense at its finest. As a reader, I consumed the book quickly because I needed to know the truth – I needed answers to 12 years worth of questions just as much as Trace Dawson and Shannon Bradford do.Nothing is what it seems for the Bradford family in Temptation, West Virginia. They hide behind their money and instill fear in Temptation’s citizens due to the power their name wields. Within Temptation is a plot and character driven story that illustrates how wealth can both build up and destroy a multitude of lives; it also proves that one’s path in life should be chosen by him/herself without fear and without a thought to appearances.This book kept me guessing up until the very end of the story, which is exactly what I’m looking for in a romantic suspense. Every time I thought I had it figured out, the book took a twist that I never saw coming. To me those are the best books to read out there. I am a huge fan of both genres so when you combine the two you get a great read. Holmes does a great job with this novel. I loved the characters and couldn't get enough of the plot. It was a page turner that just kept getting better. I am not a huge fan of cheating books, but in defense of this book it didn't really focus much on that. It was more about the mystery and what was developing between the two characters, rather than the typical love triangles that are often over used. Real life characters with real life problems. It truly was a great read that had me hooked. Again love the mystery and the romance together.
