About book Wood, Screws, & Nails (2014)

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review through the DBML program.Aaron is a man in his mid-late 30's. The summer where the book starts he's about to start working in the renovation of his parents' lake house, which is a lot of work. Aaron has a 21 year old son, Julian, so in an effort to renew his bond with the kid he asks him to help him to remodel the place, and as an extra incentive he offers to pay him. This idea sounds quite appealing to Julian and asks his dad if he could bring his friend, Malachi, who needs some extra cash to pay for his university stuff. Even knowing that the super hot Brazilian guy will be an obvious distraction for a closeted gay man like himself, Aaron agrees. In the end he could use the extra help.Malachi is attracted to older men, and Aaron is so gorgeous that it's a bit too impossible to stop the attraction from happening... and showing. The sexual tension between the two MC is really strong since the beginning. I enjoyed the easy dynamic that grew between them, and also how mature was Malachi for a guy his age. I also liked the pace of the story. There was enough relationship growth to really appreciate these two guys as a couple. I did have a couple of difficulties with this story. While the MC were very enjoyable and easy to like, I found Julian a bit too annoying.. it was so, that it was really difficult for me to believe his change of heart at the end of the book. I found him extremely immature most of the times, and then Aaron's reaction to him frustrated me even more... :S. It is because of the reason above that i'm rating this 3.5. While Julian may not have been around most of the time, every time he managed to sour things with his attitude i found it hard to sort of let go.... (my fault, im too aprehensive with boon characters sometimes lol). The writing was great, though. Also, the smexy times were really good (well almost all of them... oops). I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.I loved this book from page one. The two main characters have great development and you learn a lot about their backgrounds without ever getting overwhelmed with exposition. The build up is well paced, and the sex, when it gets there is hot hot hot! I'm a sucker for kinks and taboos in almost any form, and the age difference was not only sexy as hell, but realistically done.I was happy to see that this book is well written/edited and has few enough spelling/grammar errors that I can't think of any that really bothered me off the top of my head.I will say that I didn't care for the character of Julian, Aaron's son, because there was a lot of emphasis placed on how he's a good kid, etc, but you never see that in the book. He's a pain in the ass pretty much from day one, and then suddenly does a complete 180 at the end with next to no explanation. All in all, I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
