This started as a very interesting story about Shane, an assassin as well as a dangerous leopard shifter. Always described as cold and heartless with an inability to feel emotions, especially love, Shane finds that he can't stop thinking of Trevor, a panther shifter who he wants in more in than one way. Although I hadn't read the previous stories, I was looking forward to learning more about the characters and was anxiously waiting to see whether or not Shane was able to finally hunt down the cobra shifter who was the chief criminal in this world. However, I was very disappointed to find out that I now have to purchase the next book to finish the story. It ends on a cliffhanger and I always find that to be irritating. There was a lot of sex in this story, more so than world-building or elaborating on the criminal cobra and, although that made for an erotic romance, I'd have liked more balance. 4 starsYou could tell that the author like these characters she spent time on giving these characters backstory and time for the reader to understand why the character are the way they are and more importantly give the reader time to care about them. You been hearing bit of informations about Shane and Trevor in past books and finally they get a book. I must say I hated that it left off as a cliffhanger especially at the prices of these book. The latest book in this series was very disappointing. Do author have maximum of words in each of their novel. Is that the reason most of these book feel rush and unfinished. Overall the book was great. This book highly recommended read if you want to remind yourself why you like Stephani Hecht's book in the first place.
