About book Born Of Ice (2009)

After a rough confusing start figuring out who was who & when, as this book is out of time phase with the rest of the series & actually gives spoilers into novels that come later (such as Cruel ' s story), I finally was able to settle into the story. If this had not been a Kenyon series I'd already read out of order, I would have put it down, but I'm glad I persevered. I love all these new characters but am wondering if Kenyon will satisfy us with credible fantastic stories for them all? There are so many! This when only 3 main characters have books so far (2 more main character books follow this book & go back to original time line too), makes it feel as if Kenyon has not only bitten off more than she can chew but gotten lost in her own series. This book should not have been added until after the main characters were covered as it would make more sense later than here. So my true rating is a 3.5. The story is less predictable than most in many ways. There's not as much long drawn out angst between Alex & Dev (I really hate typical romance for use of such padding to make a book long enough which is why I got into Paranormal romance & Kenyon). Others have said they didn't feel a connection to Alix but I definitely did & cheered her on the whole way. But I do agree her back story was given short shrift & deserved more detail & development. I believe that besides the 1st book in the series, this is the weakest link & shows that these were her earliest ever novels sold to regular romance houses & then rewritten to make them more palatable for her PNR fan base later on. I just hope she can keep this series growing at the level of Darling Cruel ' s story, which I read 1st before starting at book one. I recommend this only to fans & readers of this series, & even then you might want to set it aside until after the main characters have been written about; it will make more sense then, be more satisfying & you won't miss anything by waiting. But DO read it then. :-D Now that was an incredible ending and a book. It may have been confusing at first as the story was set in the future but it was an incredible story. Devyn is the only child of Syn and Shahara's. Shahara's lost her oldest son (I presume during birth) but Devyn is the only child who have a mechanical heart as a girl he was in a relationship with stabbed him in the heart but his father, Syn saved his life. ALIX is another girl who looked like the girl who stabbed him and who have a troubled past, she and her baby sister, Tempest and her mother are a slave. In order to free them, Merjack forced her to spy on Devyn and his crew. It was amazing to see how they helped her. And we met Nykyrian's children who became an assassin. And Hauk's son, Vik and Nero was in it. And Devyn adopted Omari, the boy he ruined his career for. He saved that boy who is a Trisani (meaning powerful psychic). I love how this story had Paden in it. We finally saw the reasons why Paden was distant to his father (which by the way, Syn is the biological father of Paden).. It was the ending that made the book awesome. I LOVED IT. Though, I wish Paden was more in the story. Would love to have seen him with the family.

Do You like book Born Of Ice (2009)?

Devyn's story is good. I love how they bring back the characters from the first two books.
