About book Dead After Dark (2008)

**Only reviewing the story by Sherrilyn Kenyon**I would have liked a longer story for Fury, but I believe everything was explained well enough to learn about his past. One thing that I appreciate about Kenyon is that she can bring all the important details from previous books in a short manner. There have been authors I've read in the past that seem to feel the need to spend pages and pages rehashing each of the previous books or stories, whereas Mrs Kenyon tells only the important information that pertains to the current story. It may leave readers with questions about why or how something came to be, but what better way to sell more books? If you do a complete recap of all the previous happenings in each book, why would the reader need to go back to read those previous books? It works out perfectly the way Kenyon does it, by just giving the bare minimum of details, so as not to leave the reader confused, but not give away everything that has happened that is actually irrelevant to what is currently going on. shadow of the moon: well this just goes to show I should've quit after acheron and after this review I'll do so. first I feel like this book like many of the series was out of place. I barely remember fury its been so long since he's been brought up. and references kept being made to his past and I wasn't sure whether they were referring to something we've been told and id just forgotten or something we haven't been told and were just supposed to be confused. hero is a little much for me. a me v the world attitude can be hot sometimes but it needs to be balanced with some more endearing trait. here fury is just picking fights for no real reason and I have yet tosee anything appealing about him...basically the author hasn't given me any motivation to care why he finds love. the heroine was just plain whiny which got old really fast. the whole bitter enemies become lovers storyline can workbut only rarely and I could already see this one becoming a train wreck. also what is sk's obsession with aerostich? the peltiers were interesting seconary characters at first but now i cant stand them. like really your daughter/sister is a grown woman so you dont like who she dates grow up, get the fuck over it, and quit making it an obnoxious romeo and juliet storyline. dnf this book and I'm done with the series beyond keeping and rereading the ones I actually did like
