I think this would be a great read for teen girls or parents...I found some parts unrelatable as I'm between those 2 groups...although interesting to reflect on my teen self and what I still carry. I may read this again when I have kids. Ended up skimming parts at the beginning because I was bored. I also found some of the communication/emotion stuff a bit repetitive for me as a therapist, although definitely along the right track and a good refresher. Ok read overall. In addition to having an 11 year old daughter, I have 12 girls in my girl scout troop, 5 girls on my Odyssey of the Mind team, and a room full of girls for faith formation class a couple of times a month- so I was really interested in what Ms. Simmons would say. I feel like this book was just a capture of what I'm seeing with little suggestions/guidance on how to actually aid these girls on their journey to authenticity.
really can't rate the book since i skimmed through it. didn't capture my attention.
