About book Mr. Darcy Broke My Heart (2010)

Of the three books in this series, this one is the one that suprised me the most and I never saw any of the twists coming. But what I really loved were these two things1. The story of the main character. Learning about herself and her relationship to her family. The main character is always there for her younger sister and I mean ALWAYS! She talks about sewing the halloween costumes for her sisters children and that her brother in law says that it feels like he got two wives, holy cow theres being there for someone. And then there's being clingy to the point where you neglect your own life for this person. ( The MC has a fiance and they break up because of her helping her sister all the time)2. The alternate version of Pride and Predjudice is really good I only wish there was more of it.I recommend this to Jane Austen fans I enjoyed this book. As opposed to "Jane Austen Ruined My Life," I found the main character to be likeable. She made some wrong choices, but her overall character was left intact. I thought the resolution with the hero was realistic and sweet.I have a couple quibbles with this book. The main one is that as a Jane-Austen addict, I don't find the supposed Jane Austen manuscript to be authentic. It focused too much on the romance, instead of the quirky characters, like Jane Austen would have done, and just generally had the wrong tone.Despite that caveat, I enjoyed this book and look forward to a re-read in the future. (Although, I would probably skip the manuscript passages :))
