This is the first part in a triology. We have Shyla, woman with a nice life; good job (self employed), nice long term boyfriend and overall just a good and normal life.Then we have Taylor, all kind of mysterious and rich CEO, with BIG issues about being touched by other people.They meet by chance and embark on a crazy journey together, full of all kind of mysterious and crazy things; sex, love, backstabbing siblings and a dark and crazy past.The book started out pretty slow for me at first but it did keep my attention though, I had a feeling it would get alot better and interesting, which it did! I am sure this story is only going to get more dark and crazy, with some more secrets coming out. Think this is going to turn out to be interesting to say the least!It is said to be a dark read in the synopsis of the book, but I would say it is "light" dark, have read much darker than this.A good start to this triology and like I said before, this is the first part of three and ends with a cliffhanger (of course)! This book starts the crazy twisted journey into the lives of Shyla Ball and Taylor Holden !! There is no lack of drama , heartache , heartbreaking pasts , crazy family history and crazy hot sex !! Yes it is similar to 50 shades , yes there is an alpha super hot male lead , yes there is BDSM etc etc... but there is so much more to this story than that. DON NOT GIVE UP READING. I was hooked and on the edge of my seat. Shyla has a great life , compared to many , loyal boyfriend , she is successful at her job working from home as a freelance graphic designer. Her past may have some small hiccups in it but nothing that she hasn't already overcome. She would probably go on unaware of just how boring and simple her life was if she hadn't slammed into and spilled coffee all over Mr. Tall , Dark and mysterious !! Taylor Holden is anything but simple. He is the CEO & President of a very well known company. He is gorgeous , demanding and again mysterious. He wants Shyla to work for him and with his offer she cannot refuse. Immediately you feel the chemistry , sexual tension , desire , longing , whatever you want to call it !! Shyla is thrown into a world of company cars , stylists , new clothes and money. Traveling alongside Taylor is wonderful but Shyla is quickly realizing her simple life is not the life she wants , or is it ?? Confusion sets in and Shyla is changing into someone she doesn't recognize and as much as it scares her she is trying to embrace it as well. Where is her relationship with Rick headed ? What is it about Taylor that draws her in and has her addicted from the start ? Why is Taylor so dead set on having her by his side ? This is a crazy journey that results in some major life changes. I am not a fan of cheating but if you find a connection with Shyla you will feel her struggle with her emotions and you cannot help but feel for her and the choices she makes. Taylor may not be all that he seems. He is a very complex man but for some reason Shyla is able to penetrate SOME of his walls and help him face SOME of his issues. This is why he is intrigued by her from the start. Nothing that happens with her is like it has been with any other person. The way he reacts to her , the things she can do that nobody else can. He is baffled and really just as hooked as she is. The attraction and sexual tension is crazy and the sex does not disappoint !! The pieces of Taylor's past start to fill in and his story is heartbreaking. You can start to understand him more , get more of a connection to him. Shyla wants to know everything and starts digging for answers. Twists and turns start coming at you and damn it if I wasn't losing my mind. Along comes Eric to blow the whole story out of the water. This book ends with a major cliffy , thankfully I had book 2 !!

This series was a little crazy. It went from dark to unexpected. I enjoyed it.
