About book The Lady Most Likely... - Pesta Perjodohan (2012)

(Sep) I love Julia Quinn. I love even crappy Julia Quinn. I enjoyed her story in The Lady Most Willing - and then discovered there was one before it, The Lady Most Willing...how could I have missed it?! So I grabbed it and started reading.Hmmm...Opening rang a bell - guy has sister help make him a marriage list. But I continued on and read the JQ story about Gwen and Charters and would have sworn I'd never read it before - none of it rang a bell. A solid 3* effort, although her story in The Lady Most Willing was much better (and I hated Octavia, the H's sister). Then, I got to Connie Brockway's story - and this time I knew it was more than familiar. Kate and Neill's story was ok, didn't thrill me, but I guess I'd give it a 3* as well. Hugh and Georgie's story was my least favorite - again, it was somewhat familiar, but I found it awkward and didn't understand how Hugh went from knowing Georgie all his life to seeing her w/new eyes and declaring his love in a matter of days (2.5*). So, I'm considering this a new read even though evidently I read this before. I knew 100% for sure when I got to the last scene - anyone who has ever read that particular accounting of Pyramus and Thisbe (and a duck) would be hard pressed to forget it! Historical English country house romance with three authors finding love for kind people that deserve some happiness.Carolyn Finchley wants a wonderful wife for her brother, Hugh Dunne, the Earl of Briarly so she plans a country house party to introduce some eligible ladies to him. Hugh is a bit clueless with anything that is not horse related so it is quite fun to watch him related with the high born ladies. We see a lot of Miss Gwendolyn Passmore and the Earl of Charters, Alex in the beginning of the story as they cluelessly start a friendship. Then we see Miss Katherine Peyton with a flashback from four years ago when she still had a relationship with Captain Neill Oakes before he became a famous officer and a mature man. Kate was lucky enough to have an understanding father and didn't get married off with the first offer like Widow Lady Georgina. Lastly we see Hugh find love with some one has always been in his life but he had never looked up and found her although Lady Georgina Sorrell was his model of ideal womanhood.Super cute short stories about people finding love at the same time at Lady Carolyn's country party.372 pages and bought from Borders $6.992 stars

Do You like book The Lady Most Likely... - Pesta Perjodohan (2012)?

Light and fluffy, not too deep because it's basically three short stories smushed together.
