About book The Right Moves (2000)

Although there is a love story involved in The Right Moves, I think I consider this more a book about healing than romance. Abbi is suffering from depression brought on by an abusive relationship as well as recovering from self-harming. Blake is still recovering from his sisters suicide, and following their dream of attending Julliard. They meet each other in dance class and are paired together for a dance which starts their meeting each other at different places around the city and the healing begins. Ok, when I started reading this I didn't completely remember the details of Abbi's story, so I went back and read the sections about her in book one from Maddie's story, then I read his one. And it is my favorite of them all. I really enjoyed each book so far, but this one was so touching even during the heartbreaking flash backs and all of the personal triumph that it was so much more. The descriptions from Abbi's perspective were so raw and heart wrenching. The tragedy that Blake had to suffer, the ties they ended up discovering to one another and they joy they finally accepted from each other that was born of the pain each had endured made this the best one. It was so moving. Loved Blake from the get go and I absolutely loved what he did for himself and for Abbi. He is the BEST guy in this series by far. All of the dancing and references to dancing were so important to me because of the ties of dance within my own family and it just pushed this book over the top for me. There isn't as much strife in the plot of this book as the others, but it is because each character already went through enough and this was both the conclusion of their pain and the beginning of their HEA. LOVED!!!!!
