About book The Wicked + The Divine #3 (2014)

I felt as if #3 was extremely lacking in areas where #1 and #2 excelled. I've never been one for extremely lengthy reviews and probably never will be but The Wicked + The Divine was a real let down this time. I'd personally rate it a 2.5In my opinion.. this issue felt rushed and all over the place.Or maybe that was the point? Who knows, but I do hope #4 is much better because God knows I'm not going to sit through something like that again. The artwork, however, will continue to make anyone swoon. Generally less approachable than its predecessors, Issue 3 reads very peculiarly as we're engrossed in the gothic gods. But I have to admit the quirky dialogue and polarizing quality of this comic fit in well with the Morrigan and Baphomet's underground music vibe. Like any non-mainstream band, they're not easily embraced by the public eye (and ear?) and will leave some people wondering what they just experienced. As we follow Laura back home, we re-enter the familiar, straightforward storytelling and then get some more of Luci's entertaining, pop-inspired wit. I feel like Luci is a persistently engaging character, that will keep you mentally smiling even if you aren't a fan of the gothic characters.
