About book Wormhole (2000)

This book rounds out the series. A fun concept that isn't executed well consistently. Some threads hang there unresolved. All religious people in the series are irrational wackos. All of the villains are nuts. The teen protagonists never quite come across as realistic representations of real people. Don't get me wrong, it was a fun read, but part of the reason I found it entertaining was that it had me thinking about how it could have been a better story. A fun read that ultimately fails to resonate. Wormhole was a satisfying ending to the pretty good 'Rho Agenda' trilogy. That sounds like a luke-warm endorsement, and I won't argue that. The first two books were a little more engaging, a little more detailed. This final installment didn't break any new ground and largely just acted as a "lets get this thing wrapped up nice and tidy" piece. And that's OK. Considering how some series (not to mention countless films) fall apart in the last chapter I'm at least glad this one didn't implode at the finish line. The book itself is probably a 3-star at best, but when taken as a whole it can get the 4th one.The total series was a fun read albeit with mostly one-dimensional characters. I'm glad I found it, and would certainly recommend it to anyone who finds the book jacket or mini-reviews here interesting.
