About book Bodyfinder: Das Echo Der Toten (2010)

The Body Finder is a YA mystery novel about sixteen year old Violet Ambrose. It is a fast paced thriller with an independent protagonist whose inability to control her impulses keeps the story speeding along. This book has it all: from normal high school boy drama to Violet's supernatural ability to sense dead bodies and who killed them. If you enjoyed reading The Mortal Instruments series or the Fallen series, then I would recommend this book to you. This book alternates perspective between Violet and the serial killer that is terrorizing her town. The author gives you just enough information to keep on the edge of your seat, but not quite enough to give his identity away. Watch as Violet uses her ability to find the victims of the killer and tries to find the killer. On top of that, Violet is confused and distracted by her new feelings for her best friend Jay. The ceaseless suspense combined with the budding romance had me up all night, desperate to know what happened next.I gave this book four out of five stars. The mystery of it drew me in, and made it impossible to put this book down. I also loved how Violet could not control her curiosity. I really liked The Body Finder, and would recommend it to teens everywhere. This book was a disappointment if I'm being truthful. I had heard some good reviews on it, but the novel I have just read is no where near as good as it was portrayed to be.The gift that Violet had was something that I found really interesting. Someone who can hear and find the dead and killers is someone that should be very interesting and someone who should have some depth to their character, but I found barely any depth. This book was so focused on a romance that you could tell from the first page was going to happen that it actually detracted from a seriously good storyline. As the reader, I could tell that Jay and Violet were going to be together and the focus on their love life actually started to bore me at some points. The title of this book is 'The Body Finder' and although many bodies were discovered, it felt like no focus was given to them, only on how it affected Violet and her friends.I also feel like there were too many characters for me to keep track of. At some points I was confused as to who was who and that's not something you want in a book.My final criticism of this book would be the sentences starting with 'and' and 'but'. These words are connectives and should be used as such. This book has been published and so these mistakes really should have been corrected.I have given this book a higher rating that you might expect from my previous comments for some other reasons. Firstly, I did like the sections of the book that were from the hunter's perspective. I found it interesting to understand what he was doing and have more knowledge than the main characters. As well as that, I feel like the idea of someone being able to hear the dead and killers is something that is original and something that I haven't read about before, so that initially got me interested in the book.Overall this book was okay, but I probably will not be continuing with the series because at some points it was painful for me to read as a result of the grammar mistakes. It's a great idea, but the way it was carried out was not for me.

I liked the book and it was good, but it wasn't extravagant.Throughout the book I had mixed feelings about Violet and Jay's relationship. And for a book about a a body finder, I didn't feel like a lot of that was going on.. it was a fair amount of finding bodies and the mystery. To get to the point, I feel like the book is flip flopping between (haha I dont even know if that makes sense) her complicated relationship with Jay and the killings and finding the bodies. **SPOILER**Hhm but I was totally freaking out when someone got shot, because I thought Jay got killed D'x Im soo jealous of Violet's relationship with Jay though. Crossing my fingers to meet my future Jay haha.
