Reread December 12, 2014: So many things happen in this book that are game changers for the entire series. It didn't fully hit me until I was rereading this just how much changed. Having already read all the books are out, I can say that these game changers are part of why this series is so darn amazing! I can't get enough of Kate and Curran. Love them!Originally Read July 4, 2013: I came late to the Kate Daniels fan club so I didn't know that the authors Ilona and Gordon had been warning their readers that major changes were coming. So I got side swiped by what happened. This series is right up there with the Mercy Thompson series and the Iron Druid Chronicles which are my favorite urban fantasy series of all times. This series just keeps getting better! Holy guacamole. Kate Daniels returned in book four of the Kate Daniels series. This time around Kate is investigating something strange that happened at a bar. Someone busted in and killed a guy, all while everyone at the bar went crazy and started fighting one another. Finding a few details, Kate is on the case. She also picks up an attack poodle at the scene which she later names Grendel. The attacks happen a few more places before everything is revealed and Kate has to clean up the mess and put an end to it.FINALLY! I had to wait four books, but YES! Curran and Kate had a rough start in this book since it looks like Curran stands her up, but they managed to make it work. This series has a bit of everything I could ask for, tons of action/fighting, romance, strong female lead and sexy shifters. I'm listening to these back to back on audiobooks because I can't get enough. So look for book 5's review in the near future. I highly recommend this series if you're looking for an awesome Urban Fantasy.
